Well...we've moved....

The house is GORGEOUS. However....Long neglected. The neighborhood is awesome, So far the city commisioner has come to welcome us, as well as the neighborhood association president...Sanford is beautiful, and everyone is so nice...I do not miss all the drama of living on base, at ALL. I dont think we will ever live on base again.

But I digress....I have alot of cleaning to do, but its HUGE, it's twice the floor space of the townhouse on base. I will take pictures of the house, but we spent HOURS in our HUGE yard this weekend cleaning it up, and made a dent..It's SO overgrown. We have a big deck, but SUPRISE, we found off to the side of the main deck, a smaller deck, that was so overgrown, and covered by debris, we were un aware it was is big as it is, then 2 more suprises, beyond the smaller deck is a bricked area, and the most charming white flagstone pathway leading to a shed, that we will be cleaning up as a playhouse for the kids, its good sized, and there is electric in there. The kids call the area "The secret Garden" There are SO many plants and ground cover out there, I have other areas I'd like to transpant to, but having never really had my own yard, I havent a clue, so Mom told me to take pictures, and she will try and help me out...so here we go. lol.

OH I AM SO MAD!!

They want me to give up my precious Meg, because she is on the breed ban list for Fort Bragg. I will not give up the best dog I have ever had, crush me, and my kids over some stupid worthless policy that was never up for discussion. Meg is my sweetheart. She babies my babies like they are her own. This breed banning has to stop. It solves nothing. It propogates fear. We're going to move off base. I AM SO MAD!!

Awwww!!

This is Nate with Jack. Jack is also called Jack Daniels, I call him Jack Jack- He is Juliet, Danni and Nate's playmate. He is ADORABLE! Please note Jacks size difference between Jack and Juliet, they are 3 weeks apart in age! He's supposedly a boxer mix, but Jewels drawfs him! I think he looks like my Grandparents old dog, Midge-who passed away when I was younger!

Princess Fluffy Butt the Wonder Puppy!

This is our Juliet, the monster golden puppy! This is the ottoman to our sofa, and as you can see, she takes up most of it! She does by many names: Princess Fluffy Butt, Jewels, Juliet, baby girl. Her AKC name is Pals Cinnamon Little Juliet, but she's anything but little! LOL. Shes an amazing pup..very charming, even my stalwart old ladies; Meg and Hope have succumbed to the force that is Juliet. The first time I caught Meg playing with her, I said "Meg! What are you doing?" Meg never plays like that, it's beneath her total highness. LOL. Its crazy cute to watch them!

My Siamese adoptee...

I can hear my Mom..."Lori Michelle, the last thing you need is ANOTHER animal!" But apparently word has gotten out about my propensity, to adopt strays, and not just 4 legged ones either. Jangles (That's her name) Mom lost her job, and her house has been foreclosed on, she was moving in an apartment where she couldn't have pets, so she came home with me. She stays UPSTAIRS unless she is SURE my dogs are racked out or kenneled. She does like them. lol. I love Siamese, My Aunt Diane had a bunch of them when I was young, (I actually remember her house having the cats, Gandalf was my favorite, he was a big blue point, fish tanks, and birds...a whole food chain..lol) I always wanted one, now I do. She rocks-she actually gives kisses, HAS to be on the counter if you are in the bathroom, and will actually put both her front feet on your shoulders, rub her head against you and hug. And she has the most amazing blue eyes!! As you can see she likes my bathroom sink!

New Haircut

So Mom got to take a couple hours this weekend to herself (GASP!!) And was able to go get my hair cut, without having to say, "Stop hitting your brother!....Sit Down!" Or hearing "MOM! He/she did _" Oh my, it was HEAVEN! I got to open the sunroof on the car, Blare the radio without worrying about any one's hearing but my own...I didn't want to get it cut off ( it was nearly to my shoulders in the back) But since I had Bri, it had been slowly thinning out, and the dry weather we have had was causing major damage too.. It's cute I guess, it's stacked in back to give me more body, but I am going to let it grow out again.

FINALLY Promoted!!

We just found out this morning that Daniel got his stripes, FINALLY!! He hasn't been pinned yet, I will post photos when I pin him, he's on a detail right now and isn't working at the unit. But he IS getting paid as one, and thats a $700 a month pay raise! I'm so proud of him!!
